Nutmeg to sponsor Media Award
SCOTTISH football periodical Nutmeg has become the proud sponsors of the SFWA Media Award.
The magazine – which is home to quality articles on Scottish football’s past, present and future – has given its backing to the Association ahead of the annual dinner later this month.
The prestigious trophy is presented to the club or association that has provided the best support to the industry over the course of the season.
Members are invited to put forward their recommendations before the winner is decided by the SFWA committee.
Nutmeg has now become the latest high-profile partner of the Association and editor Daniel Gray said: “How Scottish football tells its stories is important to Nutmeg, so we were keen to sponsor the Media Award.
“Media teams show such great ingenuity and creativity in communicating with fans and promoting our game across the world. That’s something Nutmeg seeks to do too so we place great value in their work.”
Hearts are the current holders of the award and the winners for the 2022/23 campaign will be crowned at the annual awards evening on Sunday, May 28.
SFWA President Chick Young said: “The Association is delighted to have Nutmeg on board.
“They understand the importance of the written word when we tell the story of our beautiful game.
“We get it. They get it. The game gets the rewards of football journalism and it is good to see the clubs understanding the relationship.”
