DoubleTree by Hilton SFWA Scottish SPFL Young Player of the Year

The SFWA can confirm the four candidates in the running to be crowned the DoubleTree by Hilton SFWA Scottish SPFL Young Player of the Year.

The prize was lifted by Max Johnston in 2023 and the likes of Lewis Ferguson and Kieran Tierney have also been recognised in recent seasons as members have heralded stars of the future for club and country.

Now a quartet of the finest young talents in our game will bid to land the honour ahead of the Dinner on Sunday, May 19.

Aberdeen midfielder Connor Barron is joined by Lyall Cameron of Dundee, Motherwell’s Lennon Miller and David Watson, the Kilmarnock midfielder, on the shortlist this term.

Players eligible for this award must be born on or after January 1 2002, play in the SPFL and qualify to play for Scotland.

The winner will be announced alongside an interview in the Sunday newspapers this weekend and shortlists for the Manager of the Year and Player of the Year awards will be revealed in due course.
