Who's our brightest young star?
LEWIS FERGUSON, Nathan Patterson, David Turnbull and Josh Doig will battle it out to be crowned young player of the year.
The Scottish Football Writers’ Association have announced their shortlist for the award, sponsored by Double Tree By Hilton.
Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson, 21, would become just the third player to win the gong – voted for by the association’s members – two years in a row.
He has continued to be a mainstay of the Dons team after lifting the trophy 12 months ago and would follow in the footsteps of Kieran Tierney and Steven Fletcher if he was chosen again.
Rangers rookie Patterson, 19, burst onto the scene this season and has impressed filling in for injured skipper James Tavernier.
After netting two goals in 14 appearances he has earned calls to be included in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for the Euros.
Celtic midfielder Turnbull, 21, is in the running to win the trophy for a second time in three seasons.
He hasn’t looked back since breaking into the Hoops first team on a regular basis in December.
Despite Celtic’s struggles the ex-Motherwell kid has bagged nine goals.
Hibs left-back Josh Doig, 18, has been another newcomer this term.
He has been linked with moves to the likes of Leeds and Leicester after becoming first pick at Easter Road ahead of veteran Lewis Stevenson and has played 32 times so far.
The winner will be announced in newspapers before the end of the season.
