King Eddy is our top man
CELTIC striker Odsonne Edouard is Scotland’s Player of the Year for 2020 after convincingly winning a poll of our members.
The French star was outstanding in the curtailed campaign scoring 22 league goals and setting up seven others as Neil Lennon’s dominant side were awarded the title to claim nine in a row.
In total he scored 28 times in 45 appearances with the other six goals all coming in Europe, two in the Champions League and two in the Europa.
The £9million club record signing from Paris St Germain beat off competition from team mate Callum McGregor, Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos and Dundee United’s Lawrence Shankland.
It is the seventh season in succession that a Celtic player has lifted our award. The 22-year-old, who was born in French Guiana, is the fifth overseas player to be named Player of the Year following Emilio Izaguirre (2011), Carlos Cuellar (2008), Shunsuke Nakamura (2007), Henrik Larsson (1999, 2001) and Brian Laudrup (1995, 1997).
