Swan's on song in Irvine

Iain Macfarlane hands over the trophy to our winner Craig Swan

Iain Macfarlane hands over the trophy to our winner Craig Swan

DAILY Record scribe Craig Swan sparkled in the Ayrshire sunshine on Monday, May 28 to claim the first SFWA major of the season.

Craig racked up 34 Stableford points to take the Spring Golf outing title on the excellent links of Irvine Golf Club.

There was a sensational three-way tie for second place with former Evening Times writer Ronnie Cully and Express and Star men Michael Baillie and Iain Macfarlane all finishing two points back.

However, our treasurer and golf convenor Iain edged it with the best inward half with Michael third and Ronnie fourth.

The association would like to thank William Hill for sponsoring an excellent day and now the preparation is underway for the Championship to be held in the autumn.
