Swing down to Dundonald

THE first ‘Major’ of the season is nearly upon us so it’s time to dig the clubs out of the shed for the SFWA Spring golf outing.

This year’s event will take place at Dundonald Links near Irvine on Monday, May 29.

Check out www.dundonaldlinks.com  for details of the course and how to get there.

Dundonald is one of Scotland’s finest new links courses and will host the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open for the first time in July.

Before Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott and Phil Mickelson rip it apart, the chance is there for one of our members to try and wrest the trophy from Mike Aitken’s hands - a worthy winner last year at the Duke’s Course, St Andrews.

Details for the day are as follows:

  • 9.30am:  Coffee and bacon roll on arrival
  • 10.30am-11.10am:  Tee times
  • 3pm onwards: Lunch and presentation of prizes

Thanks to the generosity of the SFWA’s sponsors William Hill, the golf day is free for all members

We have room for 24 golfers and these places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Contact golf convenor Iain Macfarlane to book your place.
