Good Gord! Parks is debut champ

DAILY RECORD scribe Gordon Parks made a sensational SFWA golf day debut with a stunning triumph in East Lothian.

Rookie Parks blew the field away on Gullane No3 on November 14 with an incredible score of 47 stableford points on a chilly but calm and dry on the links that was perfect for scoring.

There were no fewer than five scores over 40 points with Parksy edging out Record rival and previous major winner Mick Gannon, who scored 45, and Mike Aitken who was two further points back.
