Chris clinches Kirkhill crown

Chris Jack has lifted the Ron Scott Trophy for the first time after winning the SFWA golf outing at Kirkhill.

The Rangers Review writer ended the day with 37 Stableford points to beat John Barnes and Lewis Anderson, who tied for second place on 33 points. Chris picked up an impressive 22 points on the front nine and the highlight of the round came on the 5th as he holed out for a three from 60 yards.

Andrew Jamieson, of sponsors William Hill, collected the visitor’s prize with a score of 31. John also took home the closest to the pin prize after a fine effort on the 8th hole and The Herald’s Matthew Lindsay was the long drive winner with his tee shot on the 17th.

Our thanks once again go to William Hill for their continued backing of the SFWA and sponsorship of the golf day. Details for the autumn outing will be circulated to members in the coming weeks.

Thanks are also extended to Kirkhill GC for their assistance on the day. A terrific afternoon was enjoyed by all.
